Cabinet Refacing in Port Charlotte

Balance Construction brings cabinet refacing and cabinetry services to homes in Port Charlotte. We look at the condition of your cabinets and how you use the kitchen, then help you choose between refreshing the existing surfaces and replacing cabinetry that no longer suits the space.

Consultations are held at your home. You’ll be discussing the project with a business owned and operated by Walter Martinez since 2005, based in Cape Coral and serving homeowners across Lee and Charlotte counties.

Look at storage and cabinet condition together

The outside of a cabinet is only part of the decision. Think about the shelves you can’t comfortably reach, drawers that don’t work well and the items that never seem to have a place.

Those observations help us understand whether a surface update addresses what bothers you.

Where to start

Refacing

For suitable boxes and a layout you want to keep, refacing replaces the visible fronts and finishes.

New kitchen cabinets

If you need different cabinetry, we can discuss replacement cabinets for the room.

Custom cabinets & built-ins

Storage elsewhere in the home can be part of a separate custom cabinet or built-in project.

Separate worn finishes from damaged material

Peeling surfaces, loose hardware and a cabinet bottom that has deteriorated are different problems. Show us each concern rather than covering it up before the assessment. A new door front doesn’t establish that the structure behind it is sound.

Worn finish

A surface problem on a sound cabinet

Peeling or dated finishes, tired door fronts and loose hardware sit on a box that still holds its shape. These are the parts refacing addresses.

Damaged material

A condition question that comes first

A deteriorated cabinet bottom or a box affected by water needs assessing before any new surface is discussed. Existing boxes must be assessed.

We’ll review what can remain and what needs a different approach. If the cabinets have been exposed to a leak, explain what happened and what repairs have already been made. The cabinet assessment helps define our work; any underlying problem needs to be addressed as part of planning the overall project.

Before your Port Charlotte consultation

Can damaged cabinet boxes be refaced?

We need to assess the damage first. Refacing relies on suitable existing boxes; replacement cabinetry may be the appropriate recommendation where the material or structure isn’t sound.

What affects the scope of a cabinet quote?

The number and size of fronts, exposed panels, selected finishes, hardware and condition of the existing cabinetry all matter. We review the room before setting out the proposed work and price.

Do you handle trim around cabinets?

Yes. Finish carpentry includes trim and molding, including crown and light-rail details around cabinetry. Mention these details when you describe the project.
