Finish Carpentry in Fort Myers and Southwest Florida
Trim gives the edges of a room a finished appearance. We provide finish carpentry for Fort Myers homeowners and serve Cape Coral, Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. From crown molding to the pieces surrounding fitted cabinetry, the work is about how surfaces meet and how the details look together.
You might be replacing a trim profile you no longer like, finishing around new cabinets or bringing several parts of a room into a more consistent style. We review the existing space before planning the materials and installation.

The Trim Details We Can Discuss

ACrown molding. A finishing profile at the top of walls or cabinetry, selected to suit the space.
BBaseboards. Trim along the wall and floor, with attention to corners and adjoining door frames.
CDoor and window casing. Profiles around openings that coordinate with other trim in the room.
DCabinet finishing pieces. Fillers, panels and molding that connect cabinetry to nearby surfaces.
ELight-rail molding. A detail beneath upper cabinets that can be specified with cabinetry work.
The right combination depends on what is already in the room and the look you want. A few well-chosen details can give the space consistency without adding an elaborate profile everywhere.
Work With the Room’s Proportions
Ceiling height, cabinet height, door openings and existing baseboards all influence the choice of trim. A profile that looks appealing by itself can feel different when it runs around an entire room.
We compare the proposed pieces with their surroundings and look at the corners, changes in level and places where one profile meets another. Those transitions are part of the installation plan, rather than details to decide after the material arrives.
If you’re keeping some of the original trim, a clear photo and an example of the profile help us discuss a coordinated result.
Finishing Around Cabinets and Built-ins
Cabinet trim helps the installation meet walls, ceilings and neighboring finishes. Crown, fillers and lower finishing pieces can be considered alongside custom cabinets and built-ins.
Molding is also an option within a cabinet refacing project. The proposal identifies the particular pieces being included, so adding crown or light-rail trim is a decision made with the rest of the kitchen’s finish.
What Affects the Work and Price?
The amount of trim, selected profile, material, working height and number of corners all affect the scope. Removing existing pieces and preparing the surrounding surfaces can add work too.
We look at those conditions during the consultation. Finish expectations, including any painting or staining, need to be clear in the proposal. That lets you plan the next stage of the room without assuming it is included in the carpentry price.
Finish Carpentry Questions
Four answers to settle before the trim is ordered.
Can I request trim work on its own?
Yes. Finish carpentry is one of our services, and you can contact us about a trim project without replacing the kitchen cabinets.
Does the new trim have to match every existing piece?
It should work with the room, but that doesn’t always mean using an identical profile throughout. We can discuss keeping selected existing pieces and choosing additions that coordinate.
Is painting included?
The finishing work included in your project is established in the quote. Tell us the final appearance you want so preparation, painting or staining responsibilities are clear before installation.
How long does trim installation take?
The amount of material, room access and number of detailed cuts affect installation time. We agree on scheduling after reviewing the rooms and the selected work.
