The service
What changes.
What stays.
Refacing works on the surfaces you see. The cabinet boxes stay fixed to the wall, the layout is untouched, and every visible face is rebuilt: new doors, new drawer fronts, new veneer across the face frames and end panels, new hinges and pulls.
The photograph below was taken mid-project, with doors off and new veneer going on. It is an explanation of the work, not a finished kitchen.

Is refacing right for your kitchen?
Two things decide it: the condition of the boxes and whether you want to keep the layout. We look at both in person before quoting anything. Suitability and the exact scope of work are established at the consultation.
Cabinet condition
The boxes need to be structurally sound and able to hold the new doors. We check the frames, shelves and any water damage, then identify repairs or cabinet replacement needed before refacing.
A layout worth keeping
Refacing does not move walls, relocate the sink or change cabinet sizes. If the kitchen works the way it is and you only want it to look different, it is a good fit.
The choices inside the job
Door style, finish and hardware are decisions within a refacing project, not separate services. We bring samples to the consultation and narrow it down with you there.
Refacing differs from painting, which coats what is already there, and from replacement, which removes the boxes entirely.

The details make the difference
New door fronts, neat edges and carefully fitted hardware give existing cabinets a fresh appearance.
Process
Four steps, start to finish
You will know what is happening in your kitchen and when. Anything we cannot promise in advance, we tell you at the consultation instead.
01
Consultation and cabinet assessment
We come to your kitchen, open doors, look at the boxes and tell you honestly whether refacing suits them.
02
Selections, measurements and agreed scope
Door style, finish and hardware are settled, every opening is measured, and the scope is written down before anything is ordered.
03
Preparation and refacing
Old doors come off, surfaces are prepared, veneer is applied to the face frames and panels, then the new doors and fronts are hung.
04
Final adjustments and walkthrough
Doors are aligned, reveals evened out, hardware set, and we walk the kitchen with you before we leave.
Refacing installation usually takes about three days. Treat that as approximate: the schedule for your kitchen is confirmed once the scope and selections are agreed.

Questions
Refacing, answered
If your question is not here, ask it on the consultation form and we will answer it directly.
What is cabinet refacing?
The existing cabinet boxes stay where they are. Doors and drawer fronts are replaced with new ones, and the visible surfaces of the boxes are covered in matching veneer, along with new hinges and pulls. The result looks like new cabinetry without removing the old ones.
Are my existing cabinets suitable?
We check cabinet condition, then discuss whether the current arrangement works for you. Sound cabinets are the starting point. A localized repair, such as replacing a damaged sink-cabinet floor, can be considered in the quote; more extensive damage can call for new cabinetry.
How does refacing differ from painting or replacement?
Painting coats the doors and frames you already have, so the door style and profile stay the same. Replacement takes the boxes out and starts over, which allows a new layout. Refacing sits between them: the boxes remain, but the doors, fronts, visible surfaces and hardware are all new, so the style can change.
What style and hardware choices can we discuss?
Door style, finish and hardware. We bring samples to the consultation and work through the options that fit your kitchen, your counters and your budget. What is available for your project is confirmed there rather than picked from a catalogue on this page.
How long does it take?
The refacing installation itself usually takes about three days. Ordering doors and fronts takes longer, and the overall schedule depends on when selections are finalised. We confirm dates for your project once the scope is agreed.
What affects the quote?
The number of doors and drawer fronts, the door style and finish you choose, the hardware, the amount of exposed panel and trim to be veneered, and any repairs the boxes need first. We measure and count before quoting.
How should I prepare my kitchen for refacing?
Empty all cabinets and clear the countertops before work begins. Put dishes, food and small appliances away from the work area so we can reach the cabinet surfaces and keep your belongings out of the way.
Can new drawers or pantry changes be part of the project?
Yes. New drawer boxes, rollout drawers and pantry replacement can be included in the agreed work. Tell us what you want to store and what isn’t working now, and we’ll discuss the changes during the cabinet assessment.
How are repairs and extra work handled?
We identify the cabinet repairs and additional work to include in your proposal. Plumbing, electrical or drywall work that isn’t listed is separate from the refacing scope and can carry an additional charge. Ask us to clarify what’s included before work starts.
